INTERNATIONAL TOXICOLOGIST, SPECIALIST PHARMACIST
Link to natural medicine:
“What we take away from ourselves and our environment in a negative sense, nature offers to replace it, you just have to find the source..”
This is what the field of naturopathy has been and is still building on today, the search for, the research and the use of active substances in various diseases, which naturopathy is using in therapies in the 21st century.
As a student of pharmacy, I was introduced early on to medicinal plants and their active ingredients, which were used very long ago, mainly empirically, especially by healers who passed knowledge from father to son. The knowledge and the knowledge grew and then the path split.
In the production of medicines on an industrial scale, pharmaceutical companies initially worked with natural substances, these were the first medicines, some still registered today, such as morphine derivatives, digital alkaloids. As research progressed, the so-called synthetic drugs appeared. The vast majority of Western medicine has chosen this path.We know exactly what serious side effects drugs have in a chronic disease, as they damage the physiological functioning of various organs and organ systems.
Later on, as an experimental toxicologist, I carried out toxicological studies on the so-called “new drug candidates” of synthetic active substances. During this work I saw the real side effects, acute and chronic toxicological lesions.
In the second half of the 1990s, we were doing preclinical trials with prospective chemotherapeutic agents, which is how I got close to the cancer problem. I saw the acute and late toxic side effects in animal studies. I became increasingly convinced that chemotherapy was not the cure for cancer.
Although toxicology became my passion rather than my job, after a few decades it became clear that I was on the wrong side. I quit my job and started looking for a natural source. This decision was one of the biggest turning points in my life. I started looking for the “marked” drop of water in the sea, the natural source that could have a decisive influence on what happens in cancer.
After a few months of thorough work, I put aside the study of plant-based agents because I was nowhere near a solution.I did observe, however, that there is a species of animal in nature that becomes cancerous in response to a species-specific virus. However, these animals do not get sick from the tumour that attacks their blood system, but they develop an “antibody” that protects them from the disease and even gives their offspring immunity during the embryonic and lactation period, which lasts for the rest of their lives.
To my surprise, I have found no previous reference to this in the literature. My aim was to find the active substance that I could isolate from the colostrum of the source animal.
I tested the drug on five different tumour types in mice that were specifically sensitised to the human tumour. In all five tumour types, I saw surprisingly good results, with a reduction in the relative mass of tumours and an increase in survival times compared to controls.
The experiments proved to me that the extracted natural material works in other species, and presumably also in humans. This is supported by the fact that a product called Procont, containing the natural active ingredient (international patent), has been used successfully in complementary medicine for 12 years by people with cancer.
The mechanism of action of Procont has been tested in 2011 and 2012 at the Department of Public Health of the University of Tartu in collaboration with Prof. Dr. István Ember using modern molecular biology -microRNA- methods. Our results confirmed, among others, the preventive effect of Procontchemopreventive, which draws attention to the importance of its use in prevention.
In addition to Procont, 7 other products have been developed over the last 12 years, of which Revitasol and Ergeron are specifically related to complementary therapy for cancer patients, as effective support of the immune system and excretion is an essential part of achieving symptom relief. In October 2011, Bertha Medical Zrt was established, where Dr. András Bertha is Chairman of the Board of Directors. Berthapharma-Technology Ltd., which functions as a subsidiary company, has been operating as its own dietary supplement manufacturing plant since the beginning of 2012, where we are able to carry out all phases of production.
Dr. András Bertha has been actively involved in the development of Tormafölde, Zala County, where he has been living for the third year, as a local councillor since 2013. Together with his biologist wife Mónika Szirmai, they have built the Artemis riding stables, where, in addition to the stables and indoor riding arena already completed, they plan to build a petting zoo and accommodation in the near future.
Their idea is to create a unique equestrian therapy centre in Hungary, with accommodation open all year round, where children with disabilities, mobility problems, autism or Down’s syndrome can camp with their parents, and not only from the surrounding villages.
Dr. András Bertha and Mónika Szirmai, together with 8 other people, founded the Tormäföldi Children’s Rehabilitation Association in 2011, a non-profit organisation, which aims to develop equestrian therapy sessions and children’s camps in cooperation with other NGOs and schools.
